What the app stores

• Sessions you record: date, splits for each run and station, loads, and the heart rate and calorie figures from your watch.
• Sessions you build, your race plan and the answers you give when creating it (race date, division, level, training days, optional recent times).
• Your first name if you enter one, your division and your settings.
• The date you completed the pre-exercise health check and whether you confirmed medical clearance. Your individual answers are not stored.

All of this is stored only on your devices, inside the app. It is included in your device's own iCloud or computer backup if you use one, under Apple's terms.

Apple Health

With your permission, the Apple Watch app records each session as a workout in Apple Health, including heart rate, active energy and running distance, and reads heart rate and energy during the session to show them live. Health data stays in Apple Health and in the app on your devices. It is never sold, shared with anyone, used for advertising, or used for any purpose other than showing your training back to you. You can change these permissions at any time in the Health app or in Settings.

Between your watch and phone

Sessions, saved workouts and today's planned session move between your own Apple Watch and iPhone using Apple's Watch Connectivity. This is a direct link between your devices; nothing passes through us.

Things you choose to share

• Share cards are images made on your phone. They leave the app only when you send them somewhere using the share sheet.
• Backups are files you export and keep wherever you choose. They contain your sessions and plan, so store them somewhere you trust.
• Email you send us through "Send us a message" comes from your own mail app. We use it only to reply to you and delete it when the conversation is done.

Reminders

Training reminders are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone. They are not sent from a server.

This website

This site is static. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. It is served by Cloudflare, which may log requests for security and performance under its own privacy policy. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your browser's request for the font files.

Children

Eight by Eight is meant for adults training for fitness races and is not directed at children under 13.

Deleting your data

Delete sessions or your plan inside the app, or delete the app to remove everything it stores. Workouts already saved to Apple Health stay there until you delete them in the Health app.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If the app ever starts collecting data in a different way, it will ask you first.
